Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. Psalm 118:1
These are the GOOD days! Don’t believe me? Do you remember a time when you were frustrated about something, and moments later something terrible happened? Did you wish you could get back to the “good days”?
This is the day that the Lord has made, so let us rejoice and be glad in it! Psalm 100:1
These ARE the good days – even when they feel awful to you. How you choose to live today matters most.
So! Think of 5 things you are grateful for right now. GO!
Now…What would happen if those were taken away? Would you disappear from the earth? No, but you would endure some pain, shock, and perhaps despair. We have no promise of tomorrow. But we have today!
That’s not meant to discourage you. Through today’s struggles, we still have today to be alive! What do you have right now that you can smile about?
If you have family and friends around you – be thankful. If they are no longer with you – hold tightly to your Heavenly Father and find a good church family to call home. They are out there waiting for you. 🙂
So rest and rejoice today – while it is still called today!
But encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception. Hebrews 3:13
If you are very sick and even in pain – be thankful! You’ve been given another day to breathe.
If you are overwhelmed by the work in front of you…choose this one moment to be still before God. He is with you.
Cease striving and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
If you are grieving – remember that we do not grieve without hope. As followers of Christ, we know we will see them once again. And though grief never leaves you – it does lessen over time. Hold tightly to the good things you have from the one you loved so much.
“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. I Thessalonians 4:13
Reflect:
• You are not alone.
• You were created for a purpose.
• His calling is on your life.
• You will have everything you need to do the work you are called to -and you will have it just when you need it.
• You are loved by God who made you and continues to hold you until the day of your physical death and resurrection when you will be with Him.
So rest and rejoice today – while it is still called today!
But encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception. Hebrews 3:13
So smile, and let your heart rest even as you work.
