Sometimes my greatest prayer comes out like, “Dear God, please don’t let me screw them up!”
And I mean it. From the bottom of my heart.
It seems so many things we do as parents affect the hearts and minds of our children. I worry about all of them.
But! Worry is not from God. It is from my own sinful nature. And so today…I am going to stop worrying about how I might fail my kids – and just be happy.
Heavens, we all have reasons to be on the psychiatrist’s couch, but we choose to walk in the Spirit. I guess my children will have to make that same choice at some point.
Thank you, Lord, for all my precious children. And help me to trust You as I teach, train, love and encourage them to take Your hand as they walk through life.
After all, You are good. You are love. You have promised never to leave us or forsake us.
Your promises extend to my children as well.
